Super Bowl Could Be Super For Emerging Businesses
Susan Schmidt is the first to admit that her business in Irving is kind of small. But the letter that she received from the NFL is kind of a big deal. The letter grants Schmidt a temporary license to sell souvenir replicas of Cowboys Stadium in the months leading up to the Super Bowl. This opportunity came when the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee selected Schmidt's company as an emerging business.

Texas Gas Prices Drop 3 Cents Before Labor Day
The cost of gasoline dropped 3 cents this week in Texas as motorists prepare to hit the road for the Labor Day holiday weekend. The weekly AAA Texas gasoline price survey released Thursday showed that a gallon of unleaded regular fuel was at $2.52. That's 6 cents more than it was on the same date a year ago on Sept. 2, 2009. Nationally, the average also decreased 1 cent from last week to $2.68.

Dell Cedes Data Storage Maker 3Par To HP
Dell Inc. is walking away from a bidding contest with rival Hewlett-Packard Co. for data-storage maker 3Par Inc. Dell said Thursday it won't match HP's offer to pay $33 per share for 3Par, or about $2.07 billion. Dell's decision came barely an hour after 3Par announced it had received Dell's revised offer of $32 per share and then the even stronger bid from HP.

Apple Revamps iPod Line, Upgrades iTunes
Apple made a series of major announcements about its digital music players and iTunes music store Wednesday. At a media briefing in San Francisco on Wednesday, CEO Steve Jobs said that Apple had entirely revamped its iPod line and made improvements both to its music store as well as the iOS operating system powering its mobile devices.
